Frequently Asked Questions
At the beauty co, we understand that you may have some questions in relation to our Skin Needling and IPL Treatments, so we have kindly answered them below. You will notice we have two categories for you to select from in our FAQ's.
Dermapen4 is the latest, most advanced micro needling device designed to rejuvenate and repair the skin naturally. It works by creating tiny, controlled micro-channels in the skin using ultra-fine needles. This stimulates your skin’s natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production.
As the skin repairs, it becomes smoother, firmer, and more even in tone and texture. The treatment is minimally invasive, with little downtime, yet delivers noticeable and lasting results.
Skin Needling is suitable for most skin types and can target a wide range of concerns, including:
•Fine lines and wrinkles
•Enlarged pores
•Acne scarring and other scars
•Uneven skin tone or texture
•Pigmentation and sun damage
•Stretch marks
•Overall skin rejuvenation
This treatment is ideal for those wanting a natural skin boost and looking to:
•Refresh dull or tired-looking skin
•Improve the appearance of scars or pigmentation
•Maintain skin firmness and elasticity
•Prevent and reduce early signs of ageing
To maximise the benefits of Dermapen 4, we recommend starting a targeted homecare routine at least 2–4 weeks before your first treatment. This helps strengthen your skin, speed up healing, and enhance results. Your therapist can guide you, but generally we suggest incorporating:
•Retinol – Encourages cell turnover and supports collagen production
•Niacinamide – Strengthens the skin barrier and reduces redness
•Vitamin C – Brightens skin tone and boosts antioxidant protection
These products should be introduced gradually and tailored to your skin type.
To get the best results from your Skin Needling treatment, we recommend:
•Avoiding active skin treatments (peels, IPL, laser) for 1–2 weeks before your session
•Not using retinol, strong exfoliants, or harsh scrubs for 5–7 days prior
•Keeping the skin hydrated and using gentle skincare in the lead-up
•Avoiding excessive sun exposure and self tanning before your appointment
•Letting us know if you’re on any medications (especially acne medications like Roaccutane)
After your session, your skin will be more sensitive as it begins to heal. For the first 48–72 hours:
•Avoid touching your face unnecessarily
•Do not apply makeup (mineral makeup may be allowed after 24 hours if needed)
•Avoid direct sun exposure, saunas, spas, and swimming pools
•Avoid vigorous exercise and activities that cause excessive sweating
•Use only the post-care products recommended by your therapist (these are chosen to soothe, protect, and assist in healing)
•Apply SPF daily.
For optimal, long-lasting improvements, a course of 3–6 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is generally recommended.
